Anderson Early Childhood Center holds a strong commitment to meeting children "where they are".  Children from many different backgrounds and abilities have come through my classroom in the last 9 years, and I hope to have given each of them a hand when it was needed, a push when they were stuck, a pat on the back when it was earned, and hugs just because!

It is my philosophy that children will rise to meet your expectations.  I believe in allowing each child to do as much as possible for themselves, I am a facilitator of experiences.  I hope to provide the materials for my students to "figure it out".  There is a huge sense of accomplishment when you succeed on your own.

I also admire the innocence and wonder of children.  The expressions on their faces when the plain caterpillar emerges as a beautiful butterfly are priceless.  I find great joy in being allowed to participate with these marvelous people as they discover the world around them.

Just as my students are learning to plant a seed and then wait patiently as the roots go down and the stem comes up, I love sowing kernels of knowledge that later bloom into successful, happy adults.

This year our Science project is watching a Pumpkin change over time.
