I thought I would start sending out a newsletter each month to answer frequently asked questions (FAQ) and address other issues that seem to come up on a regular basis.  If you see your question here, you can feel better knowing that it's been asked by quite a few people  :)

Changing your email password

Your email password will expire every 6 months.  You must use TelNet to access the Ten-Nash server and change your password.  It is vital that you remember your password, even if you have it saved within the Netscape email program.   If you do forget your password, let me know an d I will forward your request to Mrs. Swope to have it changed.

Instructions for manually changing your password:

Start

Run: (type the word) Telnet

Connect:

(You will only have to type this information the first time you run this program)

Remote System:

ten-nash.ten.k12.tn.us

User name: (type your email name ex: swimss)

Enter

Password: (type your old password)

Enter

Your will see a message concerning your old password expiring and prompting a new one

Type your new password

Enter

Retype to confirm

Enter

You will see the welcome message

Enter

Enter

When you are finished, type L to logout

Access Email from Other Locations

You can access your email from any location using web-based email.   The URL for this is:

http://webmail.k12tn.net/src/login.php

Computer Problems

Please remember to report your computer problems to me in writing.   Please be as specific as you can.  I will get to them as soon as possible.  I will do my best to fix them myself.  If I cannot, I will report them to Mrs. Swope and let you know that they have been passed along.

http://www.ikeepbookmarks.com/  This site allows you to keep your bookmarks on the web so you can access them from any computer

http://www.janbrett.com  This is the author's official site.  Here you can print pictures, get curriculum ideas, and (from the contact us page) request a teacher's resource kit

http://AndersonECC.tripod.com  Our school website.  I have not updated it recently, but I plan to begin monthly updates in January or February.  I would love to have your input for the site.  Remember, pictures and work by the children may be published, but group pictures are best and we will only use first names to identify student materials.
